Phuket FC reignites youth football development

PHUKET: The island’s premier football team Phuket FC has renewed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Plookpanya School on youth football development for the second year running. The MOU was signed in the evening of March 26 at Surakul Stadium.

Phuket Football Club Vice President Eam Thavornwongvongse told the Gazette, “The purpose of the MOU is for cooperation with a school in Phuket to develop Phuket youth football skills. We would like to improve their skills to help make them potential football players for Phuket province,”

“It will be a career for them in the future. The project can protect Phuket youths from getting involved with drugs and crime,” Mr Eam said.

“We are responsible for the facilitating the supply of sporting equipment and experts to give them the relevant knowledge,” he said.

“We will be coordinating with the government sports offices in Phuket to help support the local youth who are seeking an opportunities in sport in Phuket,” he explained.

“We will present sports information or news about youth football teams in our website and other media in Phuket,” Mr Eam added.

Plookpanya School Director Winai Suriyaprakarn said, “We conducted the project well last year.”

“We are very happy with the student football team. They won many football competitions last year. That made a good image for Phuket,” Mr Winai said.

“We will keep improving their skills and keep developing youth football in Phuket to make it one of the best in Thailand,” Mr Winai added.
