PGM CCM Rhaman Putra Championship Reduced to 54 Holes
The PGM CCM Rahman Putra Golf Championship, which is the second event to be played on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) this season, will be decided over 54 holes, tournament officials announced on Friday.
The third and final round of the RM200,000 (approximately US$65,000) ADT event is scheduled to tee off at 7:45am (local time) and conclude on Saturday due to haze in the local area.
Singapore’s Lam Zhiqun and Thailand’s Pavit Tangkamolprasert currently share the halfway lead after they carded matching two-under-par 70s at the Kelab Rahman Putra Malaysia.
The duo hold a single shot lead over Malaysia’s Khor Kheng Hwai, Japan’s Konosuke Nakazato, Australian Daniel Bringolf and Paul Harris of the United States with their two-day total of a six-under-par 138.
The winner of the PGM CCM Rahman Putra Championship will take home a purse of US$10,500 and receive six Official World Golf Ranking points. The top six players and ties will also earn points based on a sliding scale.
The top five players on the ADT Order of Merit at the end of the season will secure Asian Tour cards for 2015.
The ADT, which was launched in 2010 with five tournaments before growing to eight in 2011, 13 in 2012 and a record 16 last year, has proved to be a successful platform for upcoming players to gain entry into the region’s premier tour.
