New food fair comes to Phuket
PHUKET: Phuket will play host for the first ever ‘Amazing Tastes of Thailand’ food fair from September 19 to 20, confirmed Anoma Wongyai, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Phuket.
Selected food from across the nation, as well as popular Phuket dishes, will be available for visitors to enjoy on Thalang Road in Phuket Town.
“There will also be workshops by famous TV chefs and culinary schools, along with singers and celebrities,” Ms Anoma added.
Activities will include food competitions, a showcase with the Iron Chef Thailand, a mini concert by singers from The Voice Thailand and Academy Fantasia, as well as traditional Thai performances.
“This is the first time ever that the TAT is holding an ‘Amazing Tastes of Thailand’ event and we are holding it in collaboration with our ‘Discover Thainess’ 2015 campaign,” Ms Anoma said.
“I would like every one to join and explore the amazing tastes of Thai food and hope that this will become an annual event for Phuket.”
