Last chance: Lay Pang restaurant owners given seven-day demolition deadline
PHUKET: The owners of a group of restaurants still standing on Lay Pang Beach have been given seven days to demolish their illegal structures, or be charged with encroachment.
Cherng Talay Tambon Administration Organization (OrBorTor) officials, along with officers from the Thalang District Office and military personnel, inspected Lay Pang Beach and handed out the final demolition orders yesterday.
“We have already warned these restaurant owners once. We gave them a 30-day deadline to remove their structures that expired on March 18,” Chief Administrative Officer (Palad) Wachira Sakunchit told the Phuket Gazette this afternoon.
The final order handed out yesterday was signed off by Cherng Talay OrBorTor President Ma-ann Samran.
“The 30-day deadline expired on March 18 and the restaurant owners did nothing. This is their final warning,” Mr Wachira said.
“If they do not do it themselves, they will be charged with encroachment and forced to pay the officers we send to tear down their buildings.”
