Christmas first for Governor
PHUKET: Phuket Governor Udomsak Usawarangkura tomorrow night will be the special guest answering questions from the island’s English-speaking residents during a new weekly English-language radio show. The program will give listeners a chance to send or call in questions to local officials, with responses read out over the air, usually in a live format. Vice-Governor Winai Buapradit today said the program, which was launched on December 15, will serve as an important two-way avenue for communication between the Phuket government and the island’s foreign community. “The program will highlight people, coming events and discussions about government policies that affect such issues as tourism and investment,” V/Gov Winai told the Gazette. The show, broadcast every Thursday night from 9 pm-11 pm on Q-FM (95 MHz), is hosted by Panutas La-ongsuwan, better known as DJ Nikki. People can send their questions to DJ Nikki (Tel: 076-258160; Fax: 076-258159; Email: email@example.com).
