Brazilian Tour Operators Association meets Phuket

PHUKET: Members of the Brazilian Tour Operators Association (Braztoa), as well as members of the Brazilian media, visited Phuket this past weekend as part of a ‘Discover Thainess’ familiarization trip organized by the TAT’s LA office.

The Brazilian tour operators had already discovered Bangkok and were on their way to discovering Chiang Mai, but took some time out to discover the pleasures on offer in Phuket during a Strategic Trade Meet with local hotels and tour companies.

In each destination, delegates had
the chance to experience first-hand Thailand’s unique services and attractions and discuss prospective business deals with Thai tourism business operators.

“This activity is a fruitful result of Thailand’s participation in the WTM [World Travel Market] Latin America 2014, which was held in April at the Transamerica Expocentre in Sao Paolo, Brazil,” said Minister of Tourism and Sports Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul. “During which, a TAT high-level delegation had brokered the possibility of Braztoa arranging for its annual general meeting to be held in Thailand. We are very pleased and honored that our effort has materialized into this Braztoa Fam Trip and Strategic Trade Meet.”

Braztoa comprises more than 90 companies and has been, since 1989, one of the most represented organizations in Brazil’s tourism sector.

The trip concluded with a Discover Thainess Networking Dinner at Angsana Laguna Phuket Resort, attended by Governor Nisit Jansomwong.
