Body of foreigner found in Rawai yet to be identified
PHUKET: Police have yet to identify a male foreigner whose body was discovered near Baan Krating Phuket Resort in Rawai two weeks ago (story here).
The body was found near an empty bottle of alcohol, and had a wound on one leg resembling an animal bite.
“We have done our best so far. We have used social media to share a picture of the man hoping someone would recognize him. However, we still have not received any calls from relatives or clues from the public,” Lt Veerayut Thanyasiri Sukawarakul of the Chalong Police told Phuket Gazette today.
Police are still awaiting results from Vachira Phuket Hospital to confirm the cause of death.
“I will go to the hospital tomorrow to see if they have finished the examination. If it is found that he died from the animal bite, we will close the case. If not, we will continue on with our investigation,” Lt Veerayut said.
Police also plan to elicit help from the Phuket Immigration Office.
“I will send his picture to immigration as soon as possible. They may be able to find someone who knows him,” Lt Veerayut added.
