19 year old American boy missing for 3 weeks in Phuket
The parents of a 19 year old American boy who vanished in Phuket three weeks ago have turned to social media in a desperate bid to find him. He was last seen with his bicycle in the Mueang district of Phuket.
The parents of the American teenager, Steven, turned to social media platforms, and The Thaiger today, March 10, in search of more information about their missing boy. Steven reportedly left his family home in Phuket on February 17 and never returned.
The boy’s mother, Srj Snyder, revealed in a social media post that her son had been missing for about three weeks, and she and her husband were desperately seeking any clues about him.
Steven was last seen with his black and blue bicycle in the Mueang district of Phuket. He was wearing a black T-shirt and green jeans, and he was also carrying a blue backpack with a black bottom.
The missing American was known to enjoy adventure and outdoor activities. His mother disclosed that he loved fishing, woodcrafts, and other survivalist activities. He often visited shipyards or boat piers in the province, but she found no clues of him at any of these locations.
Steven’s mother stated that her son had never run away from home or gone missing before, emphasising that there were no reasons or issues that would have caused him to sever contact with his family. Her son left home without a mobile phone, and she believed he had no money with him either.
Srj and her husband reported their son as missing to local police officers, though they did not specify which police station they approached. However, they received no updates from the officers and subsequently reached out to netizens for help, but still received no useful information.
According to an email sent to The Thaiger regarding the matter, expatriates and local business operators, such as those at a diving training centre, were aware of Steven’s disappearance, but the majority of Thai residents in Phuket were not. The parents hoped the media would help spread the news more widely.

Another American national, 38 year old Nina Ng, went missing after a jet ski trip in the sea near Patong Beach on February 27. Local rescue teams continue to search for her, but no updates have yet been provided to the public.
