Chon Buri launches Travel Mart 2024 to boost tourism revenue

Chon Buri has taken a major step to boost its tourism industry with the launch of the Chon Buri Travel Mart 2024. Governor Thawatchai Srithong, along with leaders from both the public and private sectors, inaugurated the tourism hotspot showcasing event, aiming to generate over a billion baht in tourism revenue.

The event promoted business-to-business (B2B) networking with travel trade professionals, focusing on inbound, domestic and corporate tourism. Held at The Sign Hotel in Pattaya, the expo attracted significant attendance from tourism entrepreneurs and travel agencies, both domestic and international.

Key figures at the event included Wittaya Khunpluem, President of the Chon Buri Provincial Administrative Organisation, and Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City, Kritsana Bunsawat.

The event marked a collaborative effort to strengthen the tourism sector in Chon Buri. Building on the success of the annual Pattaya Travel Mart, this year’s event expanded its scope to include tourism operators from across the entire province.

Over 130 local tourism businesses participated as sellers, while more than 200 travel agencies attended as buyers, representing countries such as China, India, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. Governor Thawatchai highlighted the significant role of tourism as a primary income source for Chon Buri. He expressed optimism that the event would drive business expansion and bolster the tourism sector throughout the year.

Wittaya underscored the ongoing efforts of the Chon Buri Provincial Administrative Organisation to promote tourism in close partnership with the private sector. He reiterated their unwavering commitment to supporting tourism activities and collaborating with entrepreneurs to ensure sustainable growth.

Deputy Mayor Kritsana pointed out that both Chon Buri and Pattaya are well-prepared to welcome tourists of all ages, offering world-class accommodations and attractions. He commended the high professional service standards of local operators, which guarantee a memorable experience for visitors.

The Chon Buri Travel Mart 2024 is poised to create exciting opportunities for tour companies and put the region’s diverse attractions in the spotlight for both Thai and international audiences. The collaboration between the public and private sectors aims to instil confidence among tourism businesses and travellers, showcasing the best of what Chon Buri has to offer, reported Pattaya News.
