Thai politician’s teenage son arrested for murder of girlfriend

Police yesterday arrested the 19 year old son of a local politician for the murder of his girlfriend in the central province of Chai Nat. The politician vehemently denied the allegations, insisting that his son was a good boy.

The victim’s mother, 33 year old Jeranan, was called to a rice field in the Hankha district of Chai Nat yesterday, April 3, to confirm the identity of the lifeless body. Jeranan was heartbroken to discover the tragic remains of her daughter, 18 year old Natnicha, also known as Focus.

Focus reportedly had a severe head wound. It is suspected that she was beaten to death with a hard object before being abandoned in the rice field.

The first person to find Focus’s body was the owner of the plot of land. He explained that he rode past his paddy field on a motorcycle at 2am on April 2 and noticed a bloodstain on the road. However, he did not pay much attention to it and returned home.

The following day, April 3, he returned to his field and noticed what he initially thought was a doll lying on his land. He ignored it and planned to remove the object later in the evening.

When he returned later that evening, he was shocked to discover that it was a dead body, not a doll. He then called officers from Hankha Police Station to investigate the death.

Officers questioned Focus’s mother and friends until they identified the suspect as Focus’s boyfriend, 19 year old Noppanat, also known as Frank. He was arrested at his home yesterday, where he denied all allegations.

Frank’s father, a prominent politician in the area, also insisted on his son’s innocence, claiming that he was a good boy and would never commit such a cruel act.

Officers searched the house and found Frank’s clothes and motorcycle, which were stained with blood and mud. Focus’s mobile phone was also found in his possession, leading the young suspect to confess to the crime.

Frank told the police that he killed Focus because he loved her and was jealous. He admitted that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the murder.

ThaiRath reported that Focus had argued with Frank and asked to break up with him, according to the accounts of her friends.

After the argument, Focus lost contact with her family and friends and did not attend her high school graduation ceremony.

Focus’s mother, Jeranan, told DailyNews that she had asked her daughter to break up with Frank multiple times. Frank had previously posted explicit pictures of Focus on social media, which led to a legal dispute in May last year.

Despite this, Frank continued his actions, posting further inappropriate images of Focus in November. Jeranan urged her daughter to focus on her studies and end the relationship but Frank persisted in harassing both her and her daughter.

According to Jeranan, Frank had thrown rocks at their house and their pickup, but she was unable to take legal action due to a lack of evidence.

Jeranan had planned to separate the couple by sending her daughter to study at a university in Bangkok. She had been accepted into the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Science at Kasetsart University but never had the opportunity to attend.

Jeranan is determined to pursue legal action against Frank to the fullest extent, regardless of his father’s influence.

Police have assured the victim’s family that justice will be served, and the politician will not be allowed to intervene in the case.
