A rescue team in Samut Prakan province near Bangkok performed CPR on a stray cat whose heart stopped beating after it fell from an electricity pole when a transformer exploded.

A member of the Samut Prakan Rescue Foundation, Nattapong, revealed to Channel 3 that he and his team were called to save the cat, which was stuck at the top of an electric pole outside a condominium on Srinakarin Road in Samut Prakan province.

Nattapong and his team members attempted to bring the cat down in various ways but the animal would not comply. The cat ran back and forth along the electric wires and suddenly jumped over the transformer, causing it to explode.

The cat fell down the pole, which was about 4 metres high. The animal developed a seizure before it stopped breathing.

Nattapong stated that he and the team tried their best to save the animal’s life. They carried out a rescue operation similar to what they would do for a human. Nattapong shared that he provided the cat with CPR and oxygen for two minutes, and it worked.

The cat regained consciousness, so the rescue team rushed it to a nearby animal clinic. The rescue team updated the media, stating that the cat was now in a stable condition but its fur was burnt. There was no report on who would care for the animal from now on.

In a related report, rescue teams and locals in the provinces affected by flooding also placed importance on the lives of each animal in the area that was stranded in floodwater. Some of them were abandoned by their owners, who rushed to escape the flood, while others were stray animals.

Recently, a video of a black dog stranded in floodwater in Chiang Mai was shared on social media by a Thai woman who lived nearby. She was stuck in her condominium and could not help the dog herself, so she shared the video to seek assistance for the animal.

Fortunately, a Thai man in the area came to the dog’s aid, pulling the animal, which was shaking in the cold water, to safety inside his home.
