Perverted knicker thief arrested in central Thailand

Police arrested a perverted knicker thief yesterday following a complaint from local women in the northern province of Kamphaeng Phet, who spotted nearly 100 pairs of their missing underwear hanging on a clump of bamboo in the community.

KhaoSod reported yesterday that local women who live near Khlong Klung Hospital filed a complaint about their missing underwear with the community leader. The stolen panties were later found hanging from a clump of bamboo near the community while the suspect was nowhere to be seen.

One local posted a video of the underwear hanging from the bamboo on Facebook on Friday, March 24. In the video, nearly 100 undergarments of males, females and children were seen hanging on the bamboo. Watch the video HERE.

After being notified, the community leader coordinated with officers from Khlong Klung Police Station and managed to arrest the knicker thief, 27 year old Opas, at his house near the bamboo yesterday.

Opas admitted to stealing underwear from several communities in the province and using them for masturbation purposes. He claimed his sexual desire is high when he gets drunk. After using the stolen items, he would hang them on the clump of bamboo.

Police reported that six victims who found their underwear on the spot filed complaints with the police. The officers also urged other victims to complain to the police.

Opas was charged with violating Section 335 of the Criminal Law by stealing the assets of others at night. He will face imprisonment from one to five years, a fine from 2,000 to 10,000 baht, or both.

The officers from the municipal administration of the area and locals removed the underwear yesterday.

Two days ago, a Thai woman in the southern province of Songkhla filed a complaint with the police after she spotted a man breaking into her house to sniff her underwear and lick her shoes. According to the victim, the man did not steal any assets, but his perverted act made her scared and she discarded all the items that he interacted with out of disgust.
