Pisutsiri managed to give police the slip yesterday but was apprehended today while attempting to commit suicide by jumping into the Bang Pakong River from a bridge in Chacherngsao province.

Pisutsiri claimed that he was driving from Samut Prakarn to Chon Buri and then drove to Chacherngsao to commit suicide. Upon travelling to Bangpoo Police Station, Pisutsiri told waiting reporters in tears that he was sorry for what he had done. He really loved his wife and wanted to die with her.

According to several media outlets, Pisutsiri tried to commit suicide in 2014 when he broke up with his ex-girlfriend.

Natthanan’s close friend named Lek gave an interview with Channel 3 today. Lek said she never trusted Pisutsiri because he was too possessive and jealous of Natthanan, even though she had never given him a reason to doubt her.

Lek stated that Natthanan paid Pisutsiri’s debts and gave him the pickup truck he used to commit the crime. Natthanan planned to break up with him and move out, which may have triggered his violent reaction.

Renowned expert in criminology, behavioral sciences, psychiatry, and justice administration, Trin Poraksa, recently disclosed to Channel 3 that Pisutsiri may not be remorseful for his actions since he did not turn himself in to the police. Poraksa suggested that the composition of Pisutsiri’s tears may provide insight into the reasons behind his emotional outburst.

Poraksa also noted that Pisutsiri had a history of violent behavior, having attempted suicide in the past. This pattern of behavior may have contributed to Pisutsiri’s recent violent act, which resulted in murder.

The insights provided by Poraksa underscore the importance of considering an individual’s history and emotional state when evaluating their actions. As law enforcement and legal professionals work to ensure justice is served, understanding the underlying factors that contributed to a crime can aid in developing appropriate courses of action.

Channel 7 reported that Pisutsiri faced two charges including:

  • Section 288 of the Criminal Law: whoever intentionally murders another person shall be punished with the death penalty, life imprisonment, or imprisonment from 15 to 20 years.
  • Section 371 of the Criminal Law: whoever brings weapons into public places without a reasonable reason shall be fined up to 1,000 baht.

ORIGINAL STORY: Man escapes arrest after gruesome fatal attack on wife near Bangkok (video)

A man managed to escape arrest after a gruesome fatal attack on his wife near the Bangpoo Industrial Estate in Samut Prakarn province near Bangkok yesterday.

Officers from Bangpoo Police Station were notified of the fatal attack on the 45 year old woman yesterday at 3pm.

Police officers found the dead body of Natthanan Joomfong in a waste stabilization ditch in front of the Global Environmental Technology Limited company in the Bangpoo Industrial Estate.

Natthanan suffered from six stab wounds and multiple burns all over her naked body. A burning towel and lighter fluid stains were found on the floor nearby the ditch by a police officer.

A witness, 58 year old Prapas Kaphukam, reported to the police that the victim had been in a white Mitsubishi pickup with her husband, who was later identified as 42 year old Pisutsiri Chansoda. After the car was parked, she ran out of the car and asked for help from him and locals standing nearby. She was naked and only had a towel covering her body.

Pisutsiri pursued the victim and attempted to drag her back into the car. He warned bystanders against getting involved, adding that the situation was a private issue between himself and his wife. Suddenly, he doused her with lighter fluid and ignited it, causing her to catch fire.

Natthanan ran and jumped into the water to try and put out the fire but Pisutsiri followed her into the pond and repeatedly stabbed her to death before fleeing the scene in his pickup.

Prapas said Pisutsiri threatened anyone who tried to help Natthanan so no one dared to help her. He added that he also suffered a burn wound to his arm because he was standing close to the woman when she was on fire.

A video of the incident was uploaded on the Workpoint News 23 platform. It showed Natthanan running out of the car to ask for help from Prapas and an ice cream seller. In the video, she said…

“Help me, help me, please! He kidnapped me! Please help!”

The victim’s niece, Chotika Boonthongkhao, later informed officers that her aunt and Pisutsiri were together for a while. Her aunt worked in Bangpoo Industrial Estate while Pisutsiri worked as a parcel delivery driver. They repeatedly argued over jealousy.

The superintendent of Bangpoo Police Station, Pisut Chantarasuwan, reported that officers conducted a search of Pisutsiri’s home near the crime scene but could not find him. They believe that the suspect has fled the province and will continue their search for him.
