Motorcycle thief killed in car accident in Chon Buri
A thief died on the Sukhumvit Road in the Sattahip district of Chon Buri last night after he stole a motorcycle and crashed into a car while making an escape.
The dead thief was identified as 42 year old Chalermpon Pairin. The stolen motorcycle, a red Yamaha Filano, was left in pieces following the collision with a white Toyota Yaris SUV.
The SUV driver, 29 year old Kittiya Waiyakula, waited until officers from Na Jomtien Police Station arrived at the scene. She reported to the police that she was travelling back home to Pattaya when the deceased thief rode the stolen motorcycle dangerously at pace against the flow of traffic and crashed directly into her car. She was unable to halt her vehicle in time to prevent the collision.
Kittiya said she was in shock and immediately reported the incident to the police and rescue team. However, the motorcycle rider was seriously injured and died before the arrival of the officers.
When the officers were investigating, the true owner of the motorcycle, 20 year old Nerarit Arison, presented himself at the scene and revealed that the dead man had just stolen the motorcycle from him. He followed the GPS until the bike stopped and he arrived at the scene.
Nerarit revealed that he parked the motorcycle at a night market in Pattaya and went shopping. He came back and discovered only the helmet on the floor.
Another motorcycle accident was reported in Chon Buri this morning. The rider, 34 year old Ek-nakorn Krasaechan, lost his life after he crashed his red Honda Wave 125i into a traffic sign at a U-turn. The man was believed to have fallen asleep and lost control of the bike after working his night shift. An SUV that was about to make a U-turn was damaged by the motorcycle.
Two weeks ago, a Thai woman was killed after a British man, 64 year old Christopher, crashed his sedan into a motorcycle she and her friend were riding. Her friend suffered serious injuries and received treatment at a nearby hospital after the accident.
