A man was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head in a field in Ban Dung district, Udon Thani, on March 27. His wife disclosed his alleged involvement with drug dealers, while police are also investigating a land sale dispute and a missing relative as part of the case.

Police Colonel Phongphan Nakwa, along with officers from Ban Dung Police Station and rescue personnel from Srisuthoth Rescue Association, responded to the scene in a grassy area near Lam Huai Mek, behind the village of Na Si Nuan, Ban Chai subdistrict, Ban Dung district.

The deceased was identified as 40 year old Na, who is believed to have died in the early morning hours. Officers examined the area and collected evidence.

Na’s 42 year old wife, Tuk, revealed that her husband had previously worked in South Korea and that the couple had separated before reconciling. She said he had been involved in drug activities, taking jobs to sell drugs but failing to fulfil orders due to unpaid debts, which led people to track him down.

Tuk added that she had noticed two to three men loitering around their home and fields in the days before the incident, and suspects their presence may be connected to her husband’s death.

Investigators at Ban Dung Police Station noted that Na and Tuk had recently sold land and received a substantial sum of money. A dispute reportedly arose when Na demanded a large share of the proceeds, which Tuk refused, resulting in serious conflict. Police plan to pursue this angle further.

Additionally, one of Tuk’s relatives was reported to have disappeared on a motorcycle following the incident. Authorities are working to locate the individual for questioning as the investigation continues.
