A Chanthaburi man turned himself in to the police after allegedly shooting his ex-girlfriend in a jealous rage, leaving her critically injured. He now faces charges of attempted murder but denies all accusations, opting to fight the case in court.

The tragic event unfolded yesterday, July 16, in Chanthaburi, where a 40 year old fruit farmer, Supachip Suksakon allegedly shot his former girlfriend, 33 year old Supaporn Amanphong, in the right leg and waist. The incident took place in the Bang Kacha subdistrict, Mueang district. Emergency responders quickly transported Supaporn to Phra Pokklao Hospital for urgent medical attention following the attack.

Witnesses reported that after the shooting, Supachip fled the scene in a green Toyota pickup truck. The police initiated a manhunt to apprehend him.

Supachip contacted the police yesterday afternoon and agreed to surrender. Despite his cooperation, he had discarded the firearm used in the incident. Police quickly located the weapon, a handgun, near a roadside forest area close to Supachip’s fruit orchard in Pathawi subdistrict, Makham district.

The gun had no bullets in the magazine or chamber, leading police to believe he disposed of the ammunition to destroy evidence. The weapon was seized for further examination.

Police have gathered substantial evidence and charged Supachip with attempted murder and carrying a firearm in a public place without justifiable reason. Despite the charges, Supachip remains defiant, denying all allegations and expressing his intention to contest the charges in court.

Further investigations revealed that the motive behind the attack stemmed from jealousy. Supachip and Supaporn had been in a relationship for approximately two years. However, their relationship was said to be tumultuous due to Supachip’s violent temper, leading to frequent physical abuse.

Supaporn eventually moved back to her own home to escape the abusive relationship. Despite the separation, Supachip continued to harass her and even threatened her family members who intervened.

The situation escalated to the point where Supachip resorted to using a firearm, resulting in the near-fatal shooting of Supaporn. The police are now focused on ensuring that justice is served, while Supachip prepares for his legal battle, reported KhaoSod.
