Thet Wongseekaew, a resident of Ban Tam subdistrict, Mueang district, stumbled upon the rare golden crab while fishing in a nearby swamp.

Measuring 3.2cm long and 2.8cm wide, the golden-hued crab stood out among the usual catches, sparking curiosity and excitement in the community.

“It looked like a normal crab, but its golden colour was so unusual. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Thet brought the crab back to his home at No. 42, Village No. 8, where it quickly became a local sensation.

News of the golden crab spread like wildfire, drawing villagers eager to catch a glimpse of the mystical creature. What intrigued them the most were the black spots on its shell and underbelly, which seemed to form numbers. Many claimed to see three clear numbers: 632, 622, and 188.
