A Filipina teacher at a school in Bangkok allegedly slapped a six year old schoolboy’s ear until it bled because he could not answer her questions in class.

The victim’s mother, 50 year old A, reached out to social media influencer Guntouch “Gun” Pongpaiboonwet after the 33 year old Filipina teacher, whose name remains undisclosed, attempted to settle the physical assault charge with a payment of 15,000 baht.

A revealed that the school also refused to expel the foreign teacher, claiming they had to wait until her work contract expired. Her son has not dared to go to school since the incident and continues to feel pain in his ear after the attack.

A explained that her son recently moved from a school in the central province of Saraburi to study at this school in Bangkok. The incident occurred on August 19, three months after he started at the new school, when her son arrived home in tears.

A stated that her son’s ear was bleeding non-stop, so she rushed him to a hospital, where it was found that the boy suffered an outer ear infection.

The mother asked her son about the cause of the injury and learned that he was punished by the Filipina teacher for failing to answer her questions in English and for not completing an exercise according to her instructions.

According to the mother, the Filipina teacher attempted to evade legal charges by initially offering her 5,000 baht, which she refused. The teacher then offered an additional 10,000 baht, but the mother continued to reject the offer.

The mother wants the foreign teacher to be punished for what she has done. The boy still feels pain in his ear and had to take medication since the day of the incident. She added that her son was not the first victim of this teacher.

Gun promised to follow up on the case with the Phayathai Police Station and would ask officers to investigate the teacher’s nationality and work permit. It is believed that the school might be ignoring the case because it hired a foreign teacher illegally.

Police have not yet issued charges against the foreign teacher, as they are awaiting a medical examination to confirm the severity of the injury.
