A 50 year old drunk Thai man stabbed his 75 year old bedridden girlfriend in the vagina at their home in the central province of Samut Prakan, claiming the victim had bullied him and clashed with him over money. Fortunately, she survived the brutal attack.

A neighbour alerted officers from Ban Klong Suan Police Station to the house on Soi Laen Fah Pah Temple, in the Phra Samut Chedi district of Samut Prakan, after hearing the victim, 75 year old Somboon, scream for help at 8pm on Sunday, July 1.

The neighbour informed police that he had heard Somboon and her 50 year old boyfriend, Boon, arguing since 3pm that day. They had chosen to ignore it as it was a daily occurrence. However, the escalation to a scream for help prompted the witness and other neighbours to intervene and notify the authorities. The alleged assailant, Somboon’s boyfriend Boon, was not present at the scene.

Police reported that Somboon was lying on the bed with a cut to her right hand and bruises on her head and eyes. Paramedics who came to provide first aid also spotted a stab wound to her vagina.

Somboon’s daughter told Channel 3 that she noticed signs of physical assault but Somboon always claimed that the wounds were from accidents. Somboon even claimed that she slipped and fell onto a wooden stick, injuring her vagina. However, a doctor confirmed that the wound was caused by a sharp weapon.

Police searched for Boon and found him lying unconscious on the footpath, about 100 metres away from the scene. A bottle of alcohol was found near him.

Boon was taken to the police station for questioning but remained intoxicated and unable to provide much detail. He admitted to drinking alcohol and engaging in an argument over money with his girlfriend. Boon also confessed to physically assaulting his bedridden girlfriend but insisted that the assault was not severe.

Somboon’s daughter added that she had known about the assaults throughout their relationship but her mother had urged her not to take legal action against Boon.

This time, Somboon insisted to Channel 3 that she would pursue legal action against Boon. She said she no longer loved him and did not want to tolerate any more abuse.
