Democrat Party leader Prawit Wongsuwan embraces eco-friendly Loy Krathong tradition
Prawit Wongsuwan, leader of the Democrat Party (DP), along with key party executives, participated in an environmentally friendly version of the Thai tradition of Loy Krathong.
Using biodegradable Krathongs (floating baskets), they wished for the good health and happiness of all Thai people and for illnesses to be swept away by the river current.
Prawit, the DP leader, was joined by Santi Promphat, Deputy Minister of Public Health, and deputy party leaders Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn and Aphichai Techatubon. Also present were party management committee members and Lieutenant General Nath Intharajaroen, Chairman of the Communications and Public Relations Committee, and other DP members.
The group took part in the activity, new-style Loy Krathong, continuing the Thai tradition, one family, one Krathong, at the Forest Conservation Foundation’s water reservoir, which spans five provinces.
After the Loy Krathong ceremony, Prawit stated that the Thai Loy Krathong Festival is a tradition that continues and promotes Thai culture. He called for support from all sides to organise the Loy Krathong Festival appropriately.
Prawit wished for all Thai people to meet only good things, have strong physical health, and illnesses to be swept away with the river. He wished for everyone to achieve the happiness they desire, reported Sanook.
