Police arrest 2 men, 1 woman for overpass threesome in Thailand

Police in Phitsanulok province arrested two Thai men and one Thai woman for engaging in public sex on an overpass in broad daylight after a local media outlet exposed them on Facebook yesterday.

Local news Facebook page named Esor News 2 posted a picture yesterday of what appears to be a couple having sex on a bridge with the caption…

“Young couple wants a new atmosphere, choosing to have sex on a pedestrian overpass in Phitsanulok in the daytime. The footbridge is located in front of a famous technical college in the province.”

Large signs line the walls of the overpass, blocking the view of motorists passing by.

After the photo went viral, officers from the Mueang Phitsanulok Police Station checked CCTV footage to find there were actually three people engaging in sexual activity on the overpass that day. Police say they were “taking it in turns,” according to MGROnline.

Police travelled to the scene to find two pillows and a blanket on the bridge but no people. Police tracked down and arrested the three raunchy criminals later that day.

The two men and one woman were charged with violating 397 of the Criminal Law: Whoever acts in a way of harasses, causes humiliation, or annoys others shall be fined up to 5,000 baht.

However, police charged them 500 baht each and sent them on their way. Police said the three exhibitionists are homeless and drug users.

Residents of a condominium facing the overpass, one of whom took the incriminating photos, had a clear view of the acts of public indecency that shocked netizens yesterday.

The condo’s 58 year old security guard Sanae Klumphot said the overpass is very busy with employees and students from the nearby Phitsanulok Commercial Technical School.

Netizens say that homeless people living and using drugs on the overpass have caused some locals to be too scared to use the overpass.

This is not the first time a public sexual act has gone viral in Thailand. A similar incident occurred last year in central Pattaya when a foreign man, later identified as a 49 year old Norwegian, and a Thai woman were caught on video having sex on the roadside. The man claimed he was drunk and could not remember the identity of the woman. He was charged and fined 5,000 baht as a result of his intoxication.
