Motorbike driver died after running into garbage truck in Thalang
Thalang Police were notified about an accident in front of the Thalang Police Station on Thepkrasattri Rd southbound at 7:20pm last night (May 10).
Police, together with rescue workers, arrived at the scene to find an orange garbage truck was parked beside the road. The truck driver 51 year old Somboon Tonglueng was waiting for police at the scene.
A white Yamaha motorbike was found at the rear of the truck. Nearby an unconscious 62 year old man, Wichai Buasri. He was rushed to Thalang Hospital and later transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket Town where he was later pronounced dead.
Mr Somboon told police that he was driving the garbage truck heading south to Phuket Town. He stopped the truck at the scene to waiting for staff to collect garbage from bins lined along the side of the road. Suddenly the motorbike hit the back of the truck.
However police are continuing their investigation.
