Six people have died and another three injured after a pickup truck carrying seven people collided with a six-wheel crane truck at an intersection in Prachuap Khiri Khan province.
The incident was reported to have happened at 11am yesterday (Sunday) at the Bo Nok-Dan Singkhon Road intersects Petchkasem Highway in Tambon Ao Noi.
Emergency responders found the six bodies and one seriously injured pregnant woman trapped inside the wrecked Toyota Vigo pickup truck. Rescue workers had to use hydraulic tools to remove the bodies and injured. Nearby they found the overturned crane truck whose un-named driver and his wife were also seriously injured.
At this stage police speculate that the pickup driver was possibly not familiar with the road as the intersection created a blind spot for both parties and they could not see the other in time to slow down, resulting in the fatal collision.
