Thai man lauded after saving drowning child in Germany

A Thai man, who works in Germany, committed an act of bravery after jumping into the water to save a drowning child.

According to Thai Residents, the child accidentally fell into the water, with the Thai man jumping in after. A video that was shared on Tik Tok, showed the man and child getting out of the water after they both held onto a bridge.

The video was captioned “Mac went to work in Germany and saw a child fall into the water. He followed in right away and saved the child. #Thaikindness.”

A crowd of both Germans and Thais that had come with Mac stood around the scene, with tensions running high as they waited to see if Mac could save the child.

Many others allegedly tried to help but they could not enter the water. Others found a floating tire and tried their best to pull it for Mac and the kid. When Mac grabbed ahold of the tire, the citizens pulled them onto land.

The crowd applauded Mac as they celebrated the child being saved. It is unknown if Mac knew how to swim. The video went viral shortly after it was posted.

Many commented on the video that the Thai man made the right decision to save the child. Thai netizens have also complimented Mac on being a good Thai citizen, even while living in Germany. They noted that he has helped spread the Thai smile in Germany and furthered the good reputation of Thailand.

Just last month, a former jockey from Nakhon Ratchasima province in northeast Thailand was killed by his pet Pit Bull while trying to save his mother who was attacked by the animal.

Thedpong’s eight year old Pit Bull “Bobby” attacked Thedpong’s 68 year old mother Duangsaree [surname reserved].

Bobby tried to launch and bite Duangsaree’s throat, so her instinct was to give the dog her forearm to bite instead.

Thedpong ran over and pried Bobby’s jaws off his mother, who was immediately taken to the hospital by Thedphong’s 51 year old friend Mana, who helps look after Bobby.

Then, Bobby dragged Thedpong into his cage. The dog savagely bit Thedpong until “his intestines spilt out.”
