A fatal road accident that occurred around 4.30am today, saw a young man on a big bike collide with a parked sedan on Vibhavadi Road, resulting in a fatality. The accident was reported to Police Captain Kajorndet Bunma, Deputy Investigation Officer at Vibhavadi Police Station.

The Vibhavadi Road accident took place near the 238th toll booth on the Vibhavadi-Rangsit inbound lane. A grey Honda Civic, registration number ชถ9615 Bangkok, was found parked across the road. The vehicle had suffered significant damage, with its left rear door crushed, right rear tyre burst, front bumper dislodged and both front tyres burst.

The driver, 22 year old Worachit, was found waiting to give a statement to the police. Nearby, a fallen Honda CBR 650 R big bike, registration number 1 ขท 8735 Bangkok, was found with its front section crushed, front shock absorber bent, alloy wheel and tyre burst, and a full-face grey helmet lying around.

The 24 year old big bike rider was found dead at the scene. He was wearing a long-sleeved green shirt with a Grab logo, a round-neck black t-shirt, and long jeans. His body showed signs of a broken neck and nearly severed left hand. Following the collection of evidence, both vehicles were removed from the scene to avoid impacting traffic.

Worachit stated that he was returning home to Phra Ram 2 from a friend’s house in Rangsit, travelling on Vibhavadi Road inbound. Upon reaching the scene, his right rear tyre burst, causing his car to lose control and crash into the concrete barrier in the middle of the road. His car spun and ended up blocking the road.

About ten minutes later, while he was calling for help, a big bike rider suddenly hit the rear left door of his car at high speed. The impact threw the rider and bike into the air, crashing onto the road, resulting in the rider’s death.

Rescue workers took Worachit to Paolo Kaset Hospital for chest pain from the barrier impact. The investigation officer is waiting for a medical report to determine if there was alcohol in his system. Meanwhile, CCTV footage will be examined to gather more evidence for further action, reported KhaoSod.
