Phuket Pads: Kathu – A golfer’s paradise

PHUKET: Kathu, in the center of Phuket, has a number of advantages over other locations on the island when it comes to residential property.

Its central location means that it’s as easy to get to Patong on the west coast, as it is to visit Central Festival shopping mall, or Phuket Town on the east side.

It’s also within easy reach of many international hospitals and is an ideal location for commuting parents that want to place their children in schools such as British International School Phuket, QSI, Kajonkiet or HeadStart.

Futhermore, Kathu is in easy reach of three golf courses: Phuket Country Club, Loch Palm and Red Mountain. And it should also be noted that marinas such as the Boat Lagoon and Royal Phuket Marina are within a reasonable distance.

The central region is therefore an ideal location, whether you want to be near golf courses, schools, malls, hospitals or the marinas. Property developer Sansiri has already built one large condominium in Kathu, which sold out within days of its launch.

For expats, families and retirees who don’t need the kind of high-priced properties that command sea views, Kathu is the most convenient place to buy, or rent a property.

We have one particular three-bedroom property in Kathu, that will provide any potential resident with complete a golf-course view. It’s located just three kilometers from Phuket Town and only six kilometers from Patong’s colorful entertainment strip – Soi Bangla.

With a very modern design, the living space of this residential property is built on three levels (184sqm), with a car port and a boundary that ensures complete privacy.

The first floor hosts an open-plan living area. The designer kitchen, with gloss-white cabinets and built-in stainless-steel appliances, includes a hob, a designer hood, an oven and microwave.

The dining area seats six, and flows into a generously sized lounge, which in turn, opens onto the pool terrace. A guest lavatory and laundry room are also located on this level.

The pool area has been designed for relaxation, and elevated concrete steps take you over the pool to the small garden, which opens to views of the golf course.

The second floor holds the master bedroom suite and features a cozy lounge, built-in wardrobes, a private balcony and a spa-style bathroom with ample windows and a bathtub.

The two guest bedrooms sit on the top level – both with ensuite bathrooms.

The property is available for rent at 45,000 baht per month for one year’s rental agreement and at 60,000 baht per month for six months rent. The sale price is 12.5 million baht.
