Connext to work, life, play downtown

PHUKET: Local developer Phuket Thanee Co Ltd launched Connext Condo this week in its latest drive to transform “downtown” Phuket into a thriving residential community.

When finished in December 2015, Connext Condo and Fit Sports Club will be part of the skyline on Sakdidet Road, near Sapan Hin and Suan Luang Park (click here for map), giving the area a community feel. The development will be right next to a residential housing estate also under construction by the same developer, Phuket Thanee Sakdidet Muang Phuket.

Covering a total land area of 4.10 rai (1.6 acres), Connext Condo is aimed at offering affordable “downtown” accommodation for young, first-time home buyers with very stylish one and two-bedroom condo units in two eight-storey blocks connected to the separately operated Fit Sports Club and swimming pool, which is scheduled for completion by December 2015.

The pre-sales event held last weekend (June 22-23) officially launched the development, with starter prices on offer at Central Festival Phuket and at the Connext Condo showroom and sales office inside the Phuket Thanee Sakdidet Muang Phuket estate on Sakdidet Road.

Priced for first-time buyers, with standard units from 1.43 million baht, Connext Condo one and two-bedroom units will come fully furnished with ModernForm and Ikea furniture designed for multi-purpose living.

Touted as the “most practical downtown living space yet”, the sensible room arrangement puts the kitchen and bathroom on the outer edge with a balcony for ventilation, while the living room and bedrooms can be transformed into an open-plan arrangement with sliding glass partition that concertinas all the way into the wall.

“Connext condo will be at the heart of a fun, upbeat community with excellent facilities nearby,” said Managing Director Ms Lakkana Teowattankul, who is part of the second-generation team of the family-run Phuket Thanee company, which has a strong track record of three large mixed-use Phuket Thanee residential estates in the past decade under the presidency of Mr Tawat Teowattanakul – a well-known Lions Club member.

“Everything is nearby. Surrounding the Olympic-length 50-meter swimming pool and children’s play pool is extensive landscaped green space, as well as the Fit Sports Club, a coffee shop, restaurants and meeting places.

“Operated separately as a leisure and business oriented complex, Fit Sports Club is equipped with professional exercise equipment and classrooms for yoga and other group activities,” said Ms Lakkana.

Construction of the two eight-storey blocks of single-bedroom and two-bedroom condos, 361 in total, is scheduled to begin in January 2014 and expected to be completed by December 2015.

“Connext Condo and the surrounding green space is planned as a self-sustaining hang-out and meeting place that offers something for every taste, mixing convenience, function and style for work and play,” said Ms Lakkana.
