Phuket Lifestyle: Property expo offers luxury…. and a helicopter ride

Legacy Phuket Gazette

PHUKET: Fancy an opportunity to test drive a super car? Or go for a ride in a private helicopter? Or how about enjoying a cruise on a marquee yacht such as the 80-foot Emily Rose?

These possibilities and much more will grace Phuket when the all new SMART Property and Lifestyle Expo takes place at Royal Phuket Marina, December 27-30. The event is billed as “Phuket’s biggest extravaganza for ‘accessible luxury’, where visitors are invited to see, feel and taste the luxury life.”

The expo brings together the best in international, as opposed to purely local, property. It will also include exciting lifestyle activities that epitomize luxury.

Entry to the exhibition is free of charge.

According to organizer Hoi Cheung, Director of Hong Kong-based 3C Ltd, “Phuket has become known as a playground for the world’s rich and famous, attracting pop stars, celebrities, supermodels and multi-millionaires. What we are trying to achieve is to provide a taste of the luxury lifestyle experience to international visitors and local residents.”

During the four-day event, there will be tastings of gastronomic delights such as the highest quality beer, caviar and fine wines. There will be a live fashion show and glamorous cocktail parties.

Ensign Media will host a party to celebrate the release during the expo of it’s 100th issue of the Property Report. Since the expo is also a family oriented event, the British International School will host a special Kids Activities Area where young ones can fully immerse themselves in creative play.

There will also be free educational seminars led by top property developers, consultants, investment professionals and lawyers such as long-term Phuket resident Desmond Hughes, who will be giving tips on how to buy international real estate.

As one of the world’s most famous dream destinations, attracting well over 4 million visitors a year, Phuket is a magnet for the rich and famous and is increasingly attracting high-net-worth individuals from the Middle East (up 63% from last year), Asia (up 41%), Russia (up 15%) and China.

And according to a survey by, China’s leading online booking agency, Phuket is the top overseas destination for Chinese travelers, many of them drawn by the world-class golf courses, ultra villas and private yachts.

Developers participating in the Smart exhibition include the listed Amari Estates Thailand, Sumitomo Realty, United Developers Corp, Prodigy-One, Krabi Boat Lagoon, Phuket Boat Lagoon, Pro Living, Kata Rocks, and many others.

The SMART international property expo is sponsored by the Phuket Gazette, PGTV and the ‘Phuket Today’ show, televised nationally on UBC/True Visions (channel 99).
