Umno urged to rebrand for future relevance and regain public trust

Delegates at the Umno General Assembly 2023 have called for the party to rebrand itself and focus on future goals, rather than dwelling on past achievements. Bukit Gantang division head Mohammad Sollehin Mohamad Tajie emphasised the need for Umno to remain relevant and avoid becoming outdated during a debate session at the assembly.

Fairul Nizam Roslan, head of the Alor Gajah division, stressed that the party’s strength relies on unity and camaraderie among its members, urging them to prioritise the party’s interests for a better future. He also highlighted the importance of avoiding internal conflicts and working together for the common good.

Datu Rosman Datu Ahir Zaman @ Abdul Halim, the party’s Sabah communications and strategic director, called for immediate action to address negative perceptions surrounding Umno’s administrative structure. He emphasised the need to restore public trust in the party’s leadership, which would in turn give Umno the confidence to govern the country more effectively.

“I believe and am confident that whatever decision Umno makes is for the good of Malaysia and the president (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) is not acting alone as he is being guided by musyawarah (consultation) and any decision is reached through discussions,” he said.
