A Japanese woman endured daily harassment through phone calls for several weeks before discovering the culprit was her husband, who claimed he acted out of love.

A 31 year old woman living in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, began receiving numerous calls from an unknown number several weeks ago. The calls, which occurred daily, often exceeded 100 times a day. The mysterious caller never spoke, intensifying her frustration as the number was untraceable, preventing her from blocking it.

The incessant calls disrupted her daily life, although they fortunately did not occur at night or while she was playing video games on her husband’s phone. This peculiar detail led her to suspect that someone close to her might be the source of the harassment.

As her suspicion grew, she focused increasingly on her husband, noting that the calls never occurred when they were together at night, reported Sanook.

Eventually, the woman sought help from the police, expressing her belief that her husband might be the stalker. Following an investigation, police confirmed her suspicions. On September 4, her husband was arrested in Amagasaki for violating Japan’s anti-stalker laws.

When questioned about his motives, the husband simply stated, “I love my wife.”

“I just called her without saying anything.”

He seemed to believe his actions were a bizarre expression of love.

It’s not uncommon for married couples in Japan to live apart, which can sometimes lead to jealousy and stalking. However, Amagasaki police confirmed that this is the first reported case of phone stalking between cohabiting partners.

The aftermath of this incident on their relationship remains unclear.

In related news, Thai singer Cherreen “The Star” Nutjaree, alongside her lawyer, filed a police report against her ex-husband for physical assault and ongoing harassment. Cherreen and lawyer Kaew Monchai recently visited Thonglor Police Station to file the complaint.

Cherreen, whose full name is Nutjaree Horvejkul, has been facing threats and harassment from her ex-husband following their separation. Despite ending the relationship, the harassment has persisted, prompting her to take legal action to ensure her safety and well-being.
