Pabuk: Koh Tao awakens to ‘business as usual’
Our Koh Tao ‘man on the spot’, Adrian, says that the island currently has heavy rains with some wind, and thunder but that wind is not currently strong. He reports that people are going around their business as usual.
“Yesterday a lot of people left the island as we saw the last two ferries leaving around 3pm and they were packed full with tourists. This morning the roads were full of taxis heading to the pier. Yesterday, around noon, we had new tourists checking in at the hotel where we are staying.”
“Talking with local Thai people from my hotel: yesterday they were just a bit worried about this storm, more for the strong winds and not so much for the rain. Tourists from this hotel are just going aboutt their day. From the looks of it they are not that worried.
“Also I saw on the main road some tourists on their motorbike just cruising.”
