be ‘Potong’, the traditional non-air conditioning busses of Phuket that can be always seen in pink operated by the OrBorJor, will now available every day from 6 am to 7 pm featuring four routes…
1. Big C Phuket (the big one in Muang) – Phuket Vocational College (Saphan Hin) for at least 84 rounds a day.
2. Super Cheap Mall (Sapham) – Mai Mummuang Market for at least 84 rounds a day.
3. Phuket Bus Terminal 2 (Sapham) – Downtown Market Phuket Town) for at least 80 rounds a day.
4. Saphan Hin – Koh Sirae for at least 72 rounds a day.
The cost per trip is 15 baht for the ride and students, both from school and university, can ride free.
Each bus will carry a GPS installed to keep track of the vehicle and to verify the trips and improve the service. A bus administration committee has also been set up to manage the buses and administrate the services. There’s also an auditor assigned to verify the fee collection of the Potongs who can address any questions and complaints about the service.
There is also a ‘suggestion box’ installed on each bus so the administration committee and the OrBorJor can listen to suggestions and provide a better bus service.
