Driver wraps pick-up around Thalang pole, killing one
A pick-up truck has lost control and smashed into a lamp post after driving at high speed during early morning rain resulting in one death and another in Thalang Hospital in critical condition.
Just after midnight today (November 22), at the intersection of Thepkasattri Road (in front Wat Phra Nang Sang), a white pick-up truck driven by 31 year old Chatri Thongjit with a passenger, Thunyaporn Ounmai, was allegedly driving at high speed on the slippery road and lost its control. The pick-up then hit the lamp post on the road island at high speed. The driver has died and Thunyaporn remains in Thalang Hospital in a critical condition.
Police are now checking CCTV camera footage to examine the incident and confirm the cause of the accident.
The force of the impact was so great that the pick-up wrapped itself around the power pole with the engine being dislodged from the wreckage.
