Phuket’s private sector donates money to help Chalong Hospital
This morning (May 7), 9:30am thank-you certificates were handed out to people who have been donating money to assist in the completion of the Chalong Hospital, currently still under construction (the Accident and Emergency Section is already in operation).
Certificates were given out by the Director of Vachira Phuket Hospital Doctor Chalermpong Sukontapon along with Director of Chalong Hospital Doctor Choochart Nitwattana.
Money from the donations will be used to build a medical record and screening room, and a waiting area for patients. Three donors are Lek Star Group, Windoor Glass Design Phuket Built by Peeradet Prueksakitsakun and Suttipohn Poonprasert.
Mr Peeradet says, “Chalong Hospital has limited areas. Patients are not receiving convenient services yet. So my friends and I have donated the money for the building to accelerate the completion. The Chalong Hospital will soon be able to handle lots of patients.”
Doctor Chalermpong says, “Now the building is not fully completed. It is opened as an emergency centre only. This is really helpful that the private sector have donated money for the buildings. The fully-operational hospital is expected to be opened some time in 2018.”
