Vehicles are once again smoothly navigating the stretch of road over Patong Hill in Phuket, following the successful completion of repair works. The vital link, which was previously marred by subsidence beneath the road surface, is now fully operational with both lanes leading to Patong open for traffic.

The confirmation of this development was announced yesterday, November 30 by the Phuket Info Centre. The communication centre, a reliable source of local news and updates, confirmed that the repair works, which started on November 29, were successfully completed and the road is now safe for motorists.

The necessity for these repair works was brought to light when motorists reported dangerous cracks appearing in the road. The damaged area was located opposite the Wyndham Sea Pearl Resort Phuket and was reported on the evening of November 28. Swift action was taken to address the issue, with the repair team being deployed to the site the very next day.

The repair operation was overseen by the Phuket Highways Office, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in the restoration works. However, they were not the only governmental body involved in the process. The Kathu Municipality and Patong Municipality also played significant roles, although none of these institutions have yet provided a detailed explanation of what specific repairs were undertaken.

In the midst of the repair works, the only communication from any of these three local government organisations was a warning issued by the Phuket Highways Office. The notice requested motorists to exercise caution while driving past the area where the work was being carried out.

The successful repair works on the Patong Hill road section have ensured that traffic flow has been restored and safety for motorists has been secured. However, the local communities are eagerly awaiting a detailed account of the work undertaken by the responsible governmental bodies.
