Construction of luxury condo in Kata Noi ‘slowed’
Officers from Internal Security Operations Command have now inspected the development of a luxury condominium development in Kata Noi as further construction has been ordered ‘slowed down’ whilst the investigation continues.
Business operators and locals in Kata Noi marched to protest the luxury condo construction last month.

Meanwhile, the owners of the luxury development in Kata last month insist that the land was ‘legal’ and the construction will continue.

Lawyer of The Peaks Residences says, “The construction project has to be slowed down while the investigation is being conducted and our land-use and permits proven.”
Officers were also worried about foreign-buyer laws. If the land title deed cannot be issued, the construction cannot be registered as a condominium, permitting 49% of the unit sales to non-Thais.
