Woman, 23, jumps to her death before dawn on New Year’s Day
PHUKET: A 23-year-old woman jumped to her death from her second-floor apartment on Sainamyen Road in Patong before dawn on New Year’s Day.
According to neighbors, Rattikorn Sunarak, 23, was feeling neglected as her boyfriend, as yet unnamed, had to work and could not attend 2015 New Year party countdown celebrations with her.
The neighbors explained that the couple had argued the previous evening and that Ms Rattikorn was reportedly drinking beer and feeling depressed and disappointed before jumping at about 4am, said Patong Police Superintendent Chiraphat Pochanaphan.
She hit a concrete wall behind the first-floor restaurant directly below, resulting in a broken neck.
“At this stage, we still have no idea who her boyfriend is,” Col Chiraphat said. “However, we will find him and bring him in for questioning.”
