THAI cuts fares, boosts flights for Songkran
BANGKOK: Thai Airways International (THAI) is introducing discounted domestic air tickets to and from Bangkok during the Songkran period, starting today and ending next Monday.
The discounted destinations are Chiang Mai, Phuket, Haad Yai, Krabi, Surat Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Khon Kaen, Chiang Rai, Krabi, Phitsanulok and Udon Thani.
Vasing Kittikul, THAI’s Executive Vice President said that passengers buying the discounted tickets may travel from Bangkok to the domestic destinations between April 15 and 17, while passengers traveling to Bangkok may fly at a discount from today until April 14.
THAI will arrange additional domestic flights and operate larger aircraft to provide more than 8,000 extra seats due to high passenger demand during the Songkran Festival. The routes involved are as follows:
Bangkok-Chiang Mai: Four additional flights daily from April 12 to 16. Operating larger aircraft on two flights.
Bangkok-Chiang Rai: One additional daily flight from April 12 to 16. Operating larger aircraft on six flights.
Bangkok-Phuket: Three additional flights daily from April 12 to 17. Operating larger aircraft on seven flights.
Bangkok-Krabi: Five additional flights daily from April 12 to 16.
