Sex Drugs: Will Phuket’s tourists be subjected to Night Fire?
PHUKET: Phuket is not the only town in Thailand selling fake Viagra or other illicit drugs to tourists. The nation’s capital is probably the leader.
But in the most recent raids in Bangkok, at least, no tourists were arrested and none was invited to pee in a pink cup.
Metropolitan police and other authorities in the City of Angels arrested five men in a crackdown on sex drugs sold illegally to tourists in red light districts last month, it was revealed yesterday.
The raids netted several fake or unlicensed drugs, including Viagra, of course.
But there were also some more exotic items: “Waman penis enlarging tablet”; “Kamagra oral jelly (in banana, apple and blackcurrant flavours)”; and, perhaps the winner for creativity, an item known as “Night fire heartily burnable by lady’s intense emotion”.
In the opinion of some, these gems did not enhance anything.
“This has tarnished Thailand’s tourism image,” said an official from the Thai Food and Drug Administration – no doubt indignantly.

Meanwhile, Phuketians might rightfully wonder when the next such raids will occur here, and whether or not “enlarging tablets” and Night Fire will figure in the booty.
