Phuket blood bank launches March mobile donation drive
PHUKET: The Phuket Chapter of the Red Cross Society has announced its schedule of mobile donation clinics for the month of March.
The Phuket Regional Blood Center (PRBC), often called upon to save the lives of Thais and foreigners, is low on stocks of blood type A.
“We need to maintain a daily minimum stock of 200 units of A, B and O blood types, and 20 units of Rhesus-negative blood,” said PRBC acting chief Pornthip Rattajak.
“We currently have only 100 units of blood type A on hand,” she said.
To help replenish dwindling stocks, the mobile blood donation clinics will be at the following places and times in Phuket in March:
March 4: Holiday Inn Resort Phuket Mai Khao Beach, 1pm-4pm
March 5: Westin Siray Bay Resort and Spa (Koh Sireh), 1pm-4pm
March 6: Phuket International Hospital (bypass road), 1pm-4pm
March 8: Phuket Numsang (Yaowarat Road, Samkong, Phuket Town), 1pm-4pm
March 12: Andaman Canasia Resort and Spa Phuket (Kata), 1pm-4pm
March 12: Club Med (Kata) 1pm-4pm
March 18: Katathani Resort and Spa (Kata), 1pm-4pm
March 19: Central Festival Phuket, banking zone on 2nd floor, (bypass road), midday-6pm
March 25: Bangkok Hospital Phuket, first floor (Samkong, Phuket Town), 1pm-5pm
March 26: Amora Beach Resort Phuket (Bang Tao), 1pm-4pm
March 26: Diamond Cliff Resort and Spa (Kalim), 1pm-4pm
March 28: Duangjit Resort Phuket (Patong) 10am-3pm
March 29: Banyan Tree Phuket (Thalang) 10am-3pm
