Phuket Sports: PYSC get the cream of Cats
PHUKET: Young sailors from the Phuket Youth Sailing Club (PYSC) were recently afforded the chance to experience the thrill of being aboard a new 32-foot Marstrom Cat (M-32) on the waters of Phuket.
The M-32 is a vessel built purely for speed with the same state-of-the-art technology as used in the aircraft industry and Formula 1 car racing.
Owner of the new catamaran, Albert Loridan, invited the youngsters to sail with him and his crew and even gave one of the older children an opportunity to helm the craft. Albert has planned another jaunt on the M-32 for the PYSC kids next month, which they are gratefully looking forward to.
Albert’s generosity has not ended with providing a unique sailing experience for the young enthusiasts as he has also donated a Hobie FX One Cat to the sailors from Phuket Sunshine Village so that they have their own boat.
Vice president of the PYSC, Katy Gooch, expressed her gratitude for Albert’s kindness and involvement with the club’s efforts.
“We would like to thank Albert for his generosity and for supporting youth sailing on Phuket The PYSC aims to promote and develop youth sailing in Phuket and we are always looking for volunteers to help with the sailing program. We invite individuals to join our “Group of Friends” which helps to cover the cost of weekly training and necessary equipment,” said Katy.
