PIMEX 2007 relocates to Royal Phuket Marina
PHUKET: For the first time in its five-year history, the Phuket International Boat Show this year will be held at the Royal Phuket Marina, December 6 to 9.
Gulu Lalvani, developer of Royal Phuket Marina, said he was delighted with the news and welcomed PIMEX as part of his dream to cement the position of Phuket as the first destination of choice for marine leisure.
Two thousand square meters of air-conditioned exhibition space is being made available for exhibitors’ booths and up to 50 boats are expected in the water and on the dock.
Coinciding with Phuket King’s Cup Regatta, recently voted “Yachting Event of the Year” for the second year at the prestigious Christofle Asia Boating Awards, the show will continue to be an integral part of Phuket’s annual marine showcase.
PIMEX, Thailand’s first international boat show, was conceived by and has been organized by Image Asia Events Co Ltd, under the direction of show director Andy Dowden.
As part of the company’s strategic restructuring, and in the interests of maintaining a close relationship with its industry base, the organization and operation of PIMEX 2007 has been transferred to Mr Dowden’s Andaman Marine Consultants company.
