KRABI: Police are searching for multiple suspects wanted for the attempted murder of the Ao Luek Noi Administration Organization (OrBorTor) council head.
Rorseff Kasirak, 55, sustained serious injuries after a group of men pulled up to his home and fired about 10 rounds Wednesday night, confirmed Capt Manat Inprom of the Ao Luek Police.
Mr Rorseff was struck in the arm and collarbone. He was taken to Krabi Hospital.
“We think that the incident was personal and very likely to be politically motivated,” said Capt Manat. “While we wait for Mr Rorseff to recover so we can question him, we will check all nearby CCTV footage.”
A day before, a gang of men in a similar vehicle gunned down an influential village headman (Phu Yai Baan) in neighboring Mueang Krabi district (story here).
Chanwit Jantharak, 50, was shot about 10 times at his home and later pronounced dead at Krabi Hospital.
Police do not believe the two incidents are related.
