Murder victim found in Saphan Hin
PHUKET: A man was found murdered in Saphan Hin, Phuket Town, on Saturday evening. Police have not yet been able to confirm whether he is Thai or Burmese. Police said the victim died of blood loss from stab wounds to his face. Other wounds on his body indicated that he had been involved in a fight. Pol Capt Pin Inmak of the Phuket Town Police Station told the Gazette that the man was not wearing any clothing. “We found only short pants with dried blood on them, about one meter away from the body,” he said. The victim is thought to have died 10 to 12 hours before his body was found at around 7 pm, and is estimated to have been 25 to 30 years old. He had shoulder-length hair and a tattoo of a buffalo head on his upper left arm. “Police investigators are trying to find relatives of the victim by placing his picture on the bulletin board at the Phuket Town Police Station, and at several hospitals in Phuket,” said Capt Pin Inmak. A number of people have gone to Wachira Phuket Hospital to check the body, but none has been able to identify the man yet.
