Marine business operators readied for high season
PHUKET: Phuket marine-business operators yesterday were provided with a seminar to improve safety standards in preparation for high season.
“We are endeavoring to reduce the number of accidents and fatalities this coming high season, and we also want to ensure tourist feel safer this year,” said Chatchai Sakdee of the Phuket Marine Office.
Marine officers provided lessons concerning regulations; Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) staff spoke about tourism plans that businesses can use in their marketing strategies; and the Marine Police detailed the finer points of Marine Law, explained Lt Col Chatchai.
“This was a good seminar, because there were many officers who provided us with useful information,” said Woranart Wongvanich, Marina Manager of Royal Phuket Marina.
