PHUKET: After a comprehensive 18-month upgrade, Laguna Phuket Golf Club bagged three prestigious awards at the Asian Golf Awards 2015 ceremony held at Orchid Country Club in Singapore.

The Asian Golf Awards are devoted to recognizing and honoring the best facilities in the Asia Pacific Golf industry.

Besides being named the Best Renovated Course of the Year, Laguna Phuket Golf Club was voted into the Top 10 Best Maintained Courses in Asia Pacific (ranked 5th) and the Top 10 for Best Course in Thailand (ranked 8th).

Under the direction of renowned golf course architect Paul Jansen, the course is billed as offering a ‘New Look, New Experience’. Redevelopment was completed in-house by the golf club’s own maintenance team and has created intriguing and strategic interest while being environmentally conscious and sustainable.

“The awards go to our entire golf team here at Laguna Phuket Golf Club and are fine testimonies of the dedication and hard work throughout this project. We are delightful to have a team of like-minded associates who truly share the same passion for golf as our members and guests,” said Director of Golf Paul Wilson.

“We are deeply honored to be recognized at the Asian Golf Awards 2015 as a leader of the golf industry in the Asia Pacific. Our renovated golf course aims to align our facilities with top international golf destinations, such as our sister course – Laguna Lang Co Golf Club in Central Vietnam. We look forward to more continued successes as we build upon these fantastic achievements.”

The annual Asian Golf Awards were established by the Asia Pacific Golf Group (APGG), the longest established specialist golf media house in the region. The event is known as the golf industry’s equivalent of ‘The Oscars’ in the Asia Pacific.
