Karaoke singer dies in tin lagoon | Thaiger

PHUKET TOWN: Police hope distinctive tattoos will help to identify a woman whose body was found floating in a disused tin mine lagoon yesterday afternoon. The woman, a karaoke waitress in her early twenties, is believed to have drowned in the tin lagoon behind the old tantalum factory, in a soi off Thepkrasattri Rd, Rassada, after sniffing glue. Pol Lt Teerasak Bussaraporn of Phuket Town Police Station said officers found tubes of glue and 50 baht in cash in the pockets of the woman’s jeans. She was also wearing a black T-shirt and black underwear. On her left arm was a tattoo of a butterfly and on her left leg was another of the letter “K”. People who live and work nearby knew the woman only as “Faun” and told police she was a karaoke singer who often came to the lagoon to sniff glue. Police sent her body to Wachira Phuket Hospital for autopsy. Anyone who believes they may be able to identify the woman should call Phuket Town Police Station at Tel: 076-212115 to make an appointment to view photographs of the woman.
