Girl kidnapped from hospital by former boyfriend
PHUKET TOWN: A 26-year-old man was in custody tonight, charged with kidnapping his former girlfriend from the bedside of her ailing mother, in the Phuket Adventist Hospital. Pol Maj Adul Nirapai of Phuket Town Police Station told the Gazette that Kittisak Raksue walked into the hospital at 4 am, pulled out a gun and started to drag Tukta Kapansit out of the room. In a panic, the victim’s sister, K. Yupa, who was also at her mother’s bedside, grabbed the gun from Kittisak and threw it into a trash can. Kittisak dragged K. Tukta out of the room and into a waiting black car. He surrendered to the police 12 hours later, bringing K. Tukta with him. He told the police that he had kidnapped her because he was angry that the family did not like him and had ended his relationship with K. Tukta. He said that he only wanted to talk things over with her. The victim’s mother, Jantieng Kapansit, 48, said that Kittisak had come to the hospital a few hours before the kidnapping and quarreled with K. Tukta. Before leaving the room, he told K. Jantieng that if she would give him 200,000 baht, he would stop bothering the family. She refused. Maj Adul said that the serial number of the gun, a .38 automatic, indicated that it belongs to an immigration officer. They have yet to establish how it came to be in Kittisak’s possession.
