Couple arrested, 2000 pills seized in ya bah bust

THALANG: Thalang Police made two arrests and confiscated about 2,000 ya bah (methamphetamine) pills on December 13, said Maj Anukul Nuket of Thalang Police Station.
The arrests were made after an undercover police officer posing as a buyer arranged to buy 400 ya bah pills for 90,000 baht from Sitthichai Prasit, 20, a native of Nakhon Sri Thammarat Province, and Kanjana Chaiyaporn, 26, a native of Kamphaeng Phet Province, said Maj Anukul.
Kanjana and Sitthichai, who Maj Anukul said are romantically involved, were arrested at 3 pm in possession of 400 ya bah pills on the road linking Bangjo Road to Bor Pla Hua Chang Rd in Srisoonthorn.
Thalang Police then escorted the couple to their home, located on Bangjo Rd near Bangjo prison, where about 1,600 ya bah pills were discovered, he said.
The couple are being held at Thalang Police Station where they both admitted to possession of ya bah with the intent to distribute, added Maj Anukul.
“We are questioning the couple to find out who the source of the ya bah was. We know it came from central Thailand, but I cannot reveal any more details as it may jeopardize further investigations,” said Maj Anukul.
