Burmese laborer murdered in Thalang

THALANG: A man was found dead of multiple stab wounds 400 meters from the Baan Laemsai School in Thalang District on March 8.

Pol Capt Saichon Petsuwan of Thalang Police Station said witnesses told the police that the dead man was a 34-year-old Burmese laborer known as “San”. They said that three local men had attacked him with knives and, although he attempted to escape, they caught and killed him.

The police are not certain of the killers’ motive, but are working on two hypotheses: the first is that the dead man and his killers had had a long-running feud and the second is that an extra-marital affair led to the attack.

Police have asked the dead man’s employer for information on K. San, such as whether he had any conflicts that may have led to his death. The body is presently at Thalang Hospital.
